Chas Eggert
Operating Partner
From 2016 to 2019, Chas was an operating partner at Arsenal Capital Partners, a New York City based private equity firm acquiring and building middle-market specialty chemical companies, following time as a managing director and specialty chemical sector leader with the Chicago-based middle-market private equity firm Akoya Capital Partners. Prior to that, he was CEO and a board director of OPX Biotechnologies, a company using biotechnology to produce chemicals from renewable raw materials, which was acquired by Cargill. He began his career with Monsanto, progressing over 20 years and eventually serving as vice president of Monsanto Venture Capital.
Chas is a Governance Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors and has board experience with the American Chemistry Council, the Biotechnology Industry Organization and the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado. He was a Founding Director and Chairman of the Colorado Cleantech Industry Association. He holds a BS in chemical engineering and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, as well as an MS in biochemical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
