The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay. St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
St. Jude is also the iSelect 2018 Philanthropy Partner, receiving a portion of the proceeds from this year’s event.
Families Never Pay: Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
Research Success: Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80%.
Saving Children Everywhere: St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Supported by Donors: It will cost approximately $1 billion to operate St. Jude this year. Because more than 75% comes from generous donors, St. Jude has the freedom to focus on what matters most — saving kids regardless of their financial situation.
